SCTE-LIST INFORMATION

SCTE-LIST is an electronic mail forum for the discussion of cable television and telecommunications from the technological perspective. It is operated on facilities provided by the University of Wisconsin - Madison Division of Information Technology (DoIT).

The Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers (SCTE®) is a non-profit group organized to develop, increase and spread both theoretical and practical technical knowledge of cable television and broadband communications systems thereby providing opportunities for the professional and technical growth of its membership and the industry.

Among the activities that the Society engages in is the promotion communications on issues of technical and/or mutual concern between cable television and broadband communications industries and:

  1. Users of cable television and broadband communications systems.
  2. Various related agencies (both public and private).
  3. Radio, television and similar broadcast industries.
  4. The television viewing public.
There is no official connection between this list and the SCTE.

(If  your Web browser links to your E-Mail program , click here to automatically start the subscription message.)

The listserver software will use the FROM address in your subscription message as the destination address for list messages, so send the message from the system where you would like to receive messages. The listserver will attempt to interpret everything in the body of the email message as a command, including any "signature" text you may have set in your mail program, so turn off the signature for this message.

The Listserver software includes other features like archiving messages and collecting messages for delivery in groups (digest). For more information, send the email message help to the address listserver@relay.doit.wisc.edu. The listserver will send a help message to your mailbox.

I am the listowner - I help resolve problems of people attempting to subscribe, unsubscribe or post messages. Please feel free to contact me.
